Cross-Cultural Development Summer Program in Finland
May 18-June 12, 2009

This innovative summer program is sponsored jointly by Satakunta University of Applied Sciences and Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences.  Students in the fields of business, technology, and health care and social services are eligible to participate.  The program will emphasize problem-based learning techniques and teamwork in international groups of 6-8 students.  Prior to arrival, students will have preparatory reading assignments relevant to their field. Lectures in the three fields will be presented by local and international faculty who serve as teacher-tutors during the program.  In addition, there will be keynote presentations by leaders in private business, public services and universities.  This is an excellent and unique exposure to problem solving in an international atmosphere.  Time for recreational activities such as water sports, wilderness adventure and meeting reindeer is allowed.
